2018 CJ's Barrel Chardonnay

CJ's Barrel" is named after CJ Kingston, our family patriarch and pioneer who came to Casablanca in the early 1900s looking for gold. An extremely limited special bottling, it is allocated exclusively to Old Corral club members.

2018 was an excellent vintage for Chardonnay at Kingston Family. Aromatically, there is beeswax and freshly baked bread, in addition to the usual Chardonnay fruit. There is enough to contemplate in this wine that you might drink it alone. In terms of a food match, a Japanese dish called saba shioyaki—salted grilled mackerel—comes to mind.
