2020 Alazan Pinot Noir
The Pinot Noir varietal does best when grown in a cool climate, so the unusually warm 2020 harvest posed a potential challenge to the success of that year's Alazan. Luckily, the orientation of our vineyard in the coolest part of the valley, with the strong maritime influence of the nearby Pacific Ocean, paved the way for a vintage as balanced and elegant as in past years.
Essences of strawberries and blueberries in the nose complement spices and earthy notes on the palate, and a bright acidity is maintained throughout. Enjoy with peppered venison or medium rare quail. While wines from warmer years tend to evolve a bit faster, these vintages should have life in the bottle for at least a decade into the future. Read more in the 2020 Pinot Noir tasting notes ››
