2020 Lucero Syrah

Like the 2020 Sauvignon Blanc varietal, the 2020 Lucero Syrah benefitted from the warmer year. While the Syrah varietal is always the last to be picked at Kingston, warmer temperatures ensured the grapes ripened more quickly and were ready to be harvested by the end of the season. The 2020 Lucero is more fruit-forward and less herbaceous than in past years, while still maintaining its spiciness. Notes of black pepper and pink peppercorn complement essences of blueberry, blackberry, and cherry.

While many Syrahs tend to be thinner and can be hard to bring to full potential, the whole cluster fermentation process helps lend more balance and texture to the Lucero Syrah, resulting in a more structured and complex wine.
